Make a Scene Theater Club

Make a Scene Theater Club is designed for children in grades 2-8* who have an interest in theater arts!

Students will be encouraged to explore all aspects of theater they are interested in such as acting, singing, movement, improvisation, technology, and behind-the-scenes production!  

The Club is an inclusive environment supporting confidence, communication, and teamwork skills!

At the end of each session students will showcase their talents and skills to their families!

Club Director: Cara Leahy
Cara Leahy is a recent graduate of Western Connecticut State University and received her BFA in Musical Theatre. While at WCSU, Cara trained in voice, dance, acting & many other areas of theater, including children’s theatre. She attributes her success and passion for theater to the theatre programs she was apart of as a child, and the adults who fostered creativity. She can’t wait to get started with Make a Scene! 


Grades 2-4 (Elementary):  TUESDAYS
Students can take the bus to Lakeside Park
Program will run from bus arrival (approx 3:30pm) until parent pick up at 5:30pm.


Grades 5-8 (Middle):  WEDNESDAYS
Students can take the bus to Lakeside Park
Program will run from bus arrival (approx 3pm) until parent pick up 5pm.


Grades 9-12 (High School):  TUESDAYS & WEDNESDAYS
There will be a limited number of spots available for high school students who are interested in mentoring younger participants!  Duties can include organizing, teaching, leading students, assisting the Club Director, set & costume design, producing, lighting, and much more!  3pm-5:30pm.  Bus transportation available.  There is a stipend is available for fulfilling a certain amount of hours!  Please reach out for more details and for an application:  recreation@pawling.org 


This program is paid in part by Dutchess County and NYS OCFS and will be offered free of charge to students!
