Moth Nights! With Pawling Community Garden
Join the Pawling Community Garden for their Citizen Science programs at Murrow Park!
MOTH NIGHTS:If you think moths are the bad guys who just eat holes in your stored winter sweaters, think again! Moths actually play important roles in the food web & summer evenings bring out some of the most intriguing creatures- including many incredible moth species.
We are excited to be hosting three “Moth Nights” with lepidopterist (someone who studies butterflies and moths), Matthew Rymkiewicz. Matt will set up attraction areas so we can view and discuss both common and unusual moths and insects we see at night. Learn about these creatures and their vital, often overlooked role in food webs and pollination while taking in Matt’s mind-blowing stories about nocturnal invertebrates.
Please meet at the Parking Lot in Murrow Park. This is a free event for all ages! (PCG suggests a donation of $5/person if you can!)
Bring your curiosity, a flashlight or headlamp, and a willingness to look a little closer at the night.
