Sourdough Making Classes

Join Kirsten from Pro Brothers Farm for these fun & interactive classes!
Beginner Class:
Learn how to feed and maintain a sourdough starter- even if you don’t intend on baking all the time. Shape a boule to take home and bake in your own oven the next day! Have some refreshments during Q&A. Each participant will get a dehydrated sourdough starter to feed, a boule to shape (including proofing basket), a printed guide with notes, three favorite recipes, & a list of helpful tools. Participants should bring an apron, all other materials will be provided. The class is expected to run between 1 1/2 to 2 hours. If you have any questions if this class is right for you email Kirsten at probrothersfarm@gmail.com Additional starter, baked goods and materials will be available for purchase at the end of class.
Intermediate/Level 2 Class:
You already have a starter and have mastered managing it! Now it’s time to learn more about all the kitchen staples you can make using your starter. Leave the supermarket version, with unnecessary ingredients you can’t read, behind for fresh, healthier, homemade versions. In this class we will learn how to make bagel dough, shape your bagels and season them to perfection. We will also make discard crackers (cheese-it/ goldfish replacement) and my most requested item, pop-tarts! We will have a kitchen available so you will be able to prepare each recipe from start to finish. Share in refreshments while we cook and have some Q&A. Each participant will take home bagels, crackers, pop-tarts, and the printed recipes with variations. Be sure to bring an apron. The class is expected to run between 2-2 1/2 hours. If you have any questions if this class is right for you email Kirsten at probrothersfarm@gmail.com

Kirsten is a wife and mother who lives in Brewster, NY. She works from home and homeschools her two boys. She also manages the social media, website and customer service for their family farm, Pro Brothers Farm. In addition to all that she made the happy mistake of becoming sourdough obsessed a few years ago. She started with bagels and quickly expanded her repertoire to sweets and bread. Since then she has started a sourdough subscription for the families farm subscribers and began teaching others the process of sourdough last year. In her class she aims to simplify the overload of information you find on the internet and teach how to make the sourdough process work for your lifestyle. She looks forward to spreading the joy of sourdough to more people again this year!
